Four steps to your first boot.

The installer takes care of the rest. Here's what happens after the download finishes.

  1. Open the installer

    Find Vesper in your browser's downloads or your Downloads folder, then run it like any other Windows program.

  2. Install firmware

    In Vesper: File → Install Firmware, then select your own PS5UPDATE.PUP. Not bundled — get it from Sony's official PS5 system software page or your own console.

  3. Boot system software

    File → Boot system software. The PS5 UI starts on Windows — then your games.

  4. Add games you own

    File → Add games, point Vesper at the PS5 games you already own, connect a DualSense, and press start.

Which version of Windows do I need?

64-bit Windows 10 or Windows 11. Windows on Arm isn't supported yet. The system guide has the details.

Does the download include games?

No. Vesper is the emulator only — it doesn't include, sell, or stream games. Use it with PlayStation 5 games you already own.

Will it run my game smoothly?

That depends on the title, your hardware, and the build. Vesper makes no resolution or frame-rate promises — check each title's status in the launcher before you boot it.

Is it really free?

Yes. There's nothing to pay to download Vesper from this site.
